Veterinary Endoscopy, as its name shows, it’s a type of instrument specially designed for veterinarians to see inside of the animal body for diagnosis and later treatment. This instrument usually consists of a display screen and an insertion tube with cameras and working channels. The camera at the tip can well transfer the image from tip to the display screen while the working channels along the insertion tube can allow other assistance tools for air/water/suction to go through and help the best for the visual inspection.

Usually, Veterinary endoscopy can only be used by trained veterinarians because endoscopy inspection belongs to invasive inspection which may cause uncomfort to your loved pets. Under the use of professional veterinarians, how can it help the diagnosis in different aspects?

  • First, pet hospitals should hold veterinary endoscopy in different sizes and types so as to meet different demands of animals such as dogs, cats, birds or exotic animals.
  • Second, different tube material helps the inspection work in different ways. Rigid tube is usually for abdomen, chest and bladder etc. while flexible tube is usually for airway, stomach and nose etc.
  • Third, the applications are becoming wider for pets than before. Veterinary endoscope can be used to remove foreign objects(such as stuck bones), airway inspection, ear inspection and washing and Cystolithotomy.
